Thanks Tel. That's exactly right, I blur items in the mid areas and background by slightly different amounts to try and give the impression of depth, the same as in a photograph, the backgrounds blurred and the foreground remains crisp and clear.
A few more examples of gift caricatures, the top one is a couple of years old but I don't think that I've ever posted it before ... enjoy.
